STRIKERS:

1. DIMITAR BERBATOV: (No. 9): The former CSKA Sofia, Bayer Leverkuson and Totenham Hotspur forward became the most expensive united signing ever when the transfer window closed in the summer of 2008. He is renowned for his skill on the ball, technical ability and supreme vision.  His performances have raised eyebrows accross united fans now classified as the “Berba-lovers” and the “Berba-Haters”. He has constantly claimed that Man Utd are his “dream club” and he sees this as the biggest and final step in his career.

2. WAYNE ROONEY: (No. 10): He came to Manchester United in 2004 as the most expensive teenager ever when we paid Everton 30 million pounds for his signature. This was one of the typical Sir Alex signings as it happened at the midnight of the deadline day and it was totally out of the ‘BLUE'(pun intended). Since then Rooney has constantly improved every season in terms of goals and assists and typifies the Man Utd spirit. His contribution to united has been brilliant and he is definitely our most important player. He was rightfully awarded the No. 10 shirt and last season Rooney justified why he is already a United Legend carrying United single-handedly at times throughout a season of otherwise mediocre standards.

Rooney has now also fathered a child “Kai” and seems to have matured with the experience. His stable relationship with his wife Coleen and his passion for the club will hopefully ensure that he stays here for a long time to come, ending his career here.

WINGERS:

2. LUIS NANI: (No. 17): Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha or Nani, another Portugese, has followed Ronaldo from the Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United and spent last season being hemmed into the side. This season however, with Giggs getting older he has to step upto the plate and show that he can perform and hold down a starting position in a squad bulging with quality. The boy has shown last season that he has the skill and the technique to become as good as Ronaldo with some outstanding goals. His typical somersault celebration (in picture) had created a huge controversy when he signed for united but he seems to have managed to keep it and we fans won’t mind as long as he doesn’t get injured doing one of those.
